About Me
My Vision
I'm Colin Henry, a 15 year old photographer born and raised in Durham, North Carolina.
I started photography in late 2024, when I debuted my parent's 2008 Canon EOS 550d for the first time in decades to take photos of birds in the snow. Since that day, I've upgraded my gear considerably, and discovered a deep passion for photography. Every photo I take serves a purpose. When my shutter clicks, I freeze a moment in time, capturing the story of it's subject, revealing powerful emotions, and bringing attention to an aspect of life. With this mindset, I've garnered thousands of social media views, helped high schoolers cherish Prom memories, and transported hundreds of people to the bustling streets of New York City (or to the peaceful quiet in Duke Gardens).
Now, I'd love to use my experience for you. Whether it's to create a basketball mixtape, a set of professional real estate photos, or a promotion for your local food drive, let's do something great.

My Life Outside Photography
While photography is a major passion of mine, it's not the only one.
I'm also deeply interested in academics. Currently, I'm a junior at the North Carolina School of Science & Math in Morganton, NC (a highly-selective public high school with an under 5% acceptance rate for students from my home district).
Before transferring to NCSSM, I attended Eno River Academy in Hillsborough, NC. In my time at Eno, I was elected Student Council Sophomore President, where I helped organize a Homecoming dance with record high attendance and worked with school executives to advocate for a free supplies program.
Outside of school, I enjoy farming and gardening. I've worked as a farmhand at local farm for over 2 years, where I've logged over 500 hours helping to grow organic produce. I also built and maintained my own, 155-sq.ft. garden.
Another passion of mine has been basketball. I started playing when I was 13, and since then I've played two seasons for my school basketball team (serving as Junior Varsity Captain my sophomore year), and I've played a season of travel basketball for a team in Durham, NC.
These passions, while they may seem far from photography, have helped me in countless ways. The experiences I've had have shaped how I see the world--both through my lens, and beyond it.
